Overstruck on a denarius of Balbinus
Lot 1410
Trajan Decius, 249-251. Antoninianus (Silver, 22 mm, 2.58 g, 12 h), uncertain branch mint, circa 250-251. IMP CAE [TRA DE]C AVG Radiate and cuirassed bust of Trajan Decius to right, seen from behind. Rev. AB[VNDANTIA] AVG Abundantia standing front, head to right, emptying cornucopiae held in both hands. RIC 33a. Very rare. Porous and with a large flan crack, otherwise, very fine.

What makes this coin particularly interesting, aside from its rarity, is that it was overstruck on a denarius of Balbinus with Concordia reverse, with traces of Balbinus' portrait and name still visible from 9-3 o'clock on the reverse
